For the Love of Food is a creative experience that honors the flavors, traditions, and memories that shape our sense of belonging. Through the art of collage and guided conversation, we’ll nourish the deep connections between food, care, and creativity.

Join Michaela Ayers, facilitator/interdisciplinary artist behind Nourish and Black Her Stories, as she guides you through a space that explores belonging through the arts.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Collage Open Studio - A guided, hands-on creative experience stocked with good vibes, magazines, images, and other creative materials.

Memory Booth - A space for participants to share personal reflections on love, nourishment, and care through guided prompts. Selected recordings will be archived (with participants’ consent) as part of the Black Her Stories podcast.

Delicious Bites – Enjoy a selection of heavy appetizers and finger foods as you create, connect, and share in community.

ACCESSIBILITY

This ticketed event is offered at a sliding space and is an inclusive space for individuals of all backgrounds and gender expressions.

  • Not wheelchair accessible; there are approximately 16 steps in the house.

  • Masks are preferred and strongly encouraged indoors.

  • 2 Scholarship seats are available for individuals

  • 2 Caregiver seats are available to parents/caregivers
